Meet Zoe
Zoe Elliott is a Detroit-based photographer working primarily with 35mm film. Through portraits, urban environments, architecture, and everyday moments, she creates images that explore the relationship between people and place.
Inspired by childhood experiences with disposable cameras and a photography class she took at 15, Zoe embraces the slower, intentional process of analog photography."Her work embraces patience, observation, and authenticity, favoring honest moments over perfect ones.
As a Black woman artist, she is especially interested in documenting community and preserving moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. Whether photographing a stranger, a quiet street, or the changing landscape of Detroit, her goal is to create honest images that invite viewers to slow down and look closer.
She is currently developing long-term documentary projects exploring community, portraiture, and everyday life across Detroit."
